We did a quick stop at la Llanada to upload a new datalogger program to collect met data at higher resolution for the eclipse ahead on August 12th. The weather was hot and sunny with a light breeze.
Because uploading a new datalogger program erases all stored data, we first downloaded the existing met data. We then uploaded the new program, which adds two additional tables to average 10-second sampled values into 1-minute intervals (CR3000_Met1min and CR3000_Biomet1min).
Since we were there, Iosif refilled the Li7700 wash reservoir; it was 90% full.
We checked the signal strength of the flux sensors and found that the LI-7700 had a low RSSI, so we cleaned the sensor optics. Afterward, we returned the horizontal boom to its original position at 290° (South of true North).
The water level was right at the soil surface. Although we didn’t have time to measure the vegetation height, it was approximately the same height as the green fiberglass rod of the thermocouple profile.
